WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) released the following statement:
“The largest cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in American history – and Trump is calling it the ‘Big, Beautiful’ bill. Well beautiful for whom? Certainly not the millions of Americans who rely on SNAP to feed their children and on Medicaid to get their health care.
“Republicans are obsessed with the poor getting poorer and the rich getting richer. This callous bill will hurt the poorest 10% of Americans while benefiting the top 1%. This bill is a predatory scam on the American people designed to pay for billionaire tax cuts.
“I know I speak for the overwhelming majority of Marylanders when I vote ‘no’ on this horrible bill.”
