September 10, 2025  WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs hosted a hearing, “Evaluating Perspectives on Deposit Insurance Reform.” This hearing continued to push the momentum for a Deposit Insurance Proposal by Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) and Senator Hagerty (R-Tenn.).  “Permanently extending deposit insurance to payroll accounts will protect small businesses, community banks, and the people they serve. Alsobrooks responds to report that Republicans are (finally) starting to doubt conspiracy theorist RFK Jr. September 8, 2025  WASHINGTON, DC – In case you missed it, The Washington Post reported over the weekend, “Doubts about RFK Jr. grow for some Republicans.” In response, Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) released the following statement:  “For the last four months I have been calling on RFK Jr. to resign or be fired – and we are making progress in the fight. RFK Jr.’s role as Secretary of Health and Human Services is incredibly dangerous for our country – he won’t only make us sicker, Americans will die.  I hope my Republican colleagues will do more
