Senator Alsobrooks is joined by Ranking Member Ron Wyden (Finance) and Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren (Banking) in filing a resolution that: “Express[es] the sense of the Senate that Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr. does not have the confidence of the Senate or of the American people to faithfully carry out the duties of his office.”

WASHINGTON, DC – Last night, Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.), Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), and Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) officially filed a resolution of disapproval of Secretary Kennedy. The resolution states that the Senate and the American people have no confidence in Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
“RFK is making this country sicker, and we are sick of it. Cuts to cancer research, cuts to scientists, cuts to the National Firefighter Cancer Registry, cuts to IVF and infertility research, cuts to HIV research and prevention. Well, we will stand up for scientists. We will stand up for our children. We will stand up for our parents. We will stand up for NIH. And I am so sick of it, I am standing up for the American people by calling on RFK to resign,” said Senator Alsobrooks.
“Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s tenure as America’s ‘chief health officer’ has been nothing short of a disaster,” Senator Wyden said. “Previously eradicated diseases like measles are on the rise, cancer researchers and other critical public health workers have been fired indiscriminately, and affordable child care is under constant threat as Head Start programs face unacceptable funding delays. Meanwhile, Robert Kennedy continues to spread lies and misinformation that are making American families less safe and less healthy. At the same time, Robert Kennedy sits silently as congressional Republicans prepare to make the largest cut to Medicaid in history. He is a disgrace, and the American people deserve better.”
“Preventable diseases like measles are roaring back, life-saving research projects are being gutted or canceled altogether, and dangerous health misinformation is running rampant. RFK Jr.’s policies are making Americans less safe and less healthy, and he should be fired from HHS immediately,” said Senator Warren.
