Under President Trump’s Economic Policies, Families Paid an Additional $310 for Groceries in 2025

January 15, 2026

WASHINGTON, DC – The United States Congress Joint Economic Committee released a new report showing that the typical American family paid $310 more for groceries in 2025. Senator Alsobrooks released the following statement as a response:

“The President has repeatedly called our nation’s affordability crisis a ‘hoax,’ but the facts are indisputable: costs for hard working Americans have gone UP under his leadership. Families paid $310 more on groceries last year. This president lied when he promised to ‘bring down prices on day one.’ He is wrecking our economy.

“There is so much coming from this Administration every single day – threats to invade our allies, aggressive ICE agents flooding our communities, vaccine schedule changes based on conspiracy and junk science, costs of goods skyrocketing. Americans should ask themselves has anything gotten better under this President?

“The answer is a resounding NO.”
