PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD – Today, Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) spent time with the CEO of Food & Friends, Carrie Stoltzfus, in delivering medically tailored meals to families with life-changing illnesses.
After delivering meals with Food & Friends, Senator Alsobrooks joined Hustle Mommies, Kevin Ford Jr., Viola’s House, Congressman Glenn Ivey (D-Md.-04), and County Councilmember Jolene Ivey at Prince George’s Gives Thanks. This large Thanksgiving community event at Second Baptist Church Southwest is one of the largest giveaways in Prince George’s County, offering turkeys and full food boxes, baby items, household essentials, and a wide range of social service resources for families.
“This Thanksgiving, I am so grateful for the trust, support, and fight of Marylanders. I was honored to spend the day with Food & Friends, delivering meals to families in our community, and then alongside Hustle Mommies, Viola’s House, and Kevin Ford Jr. in giving back to our community. I hope Marylanders have a peaceful Thanksgiving filled with gratitude and community,” said Senator Alsobrooks.
“I commend Second Baptist Church SW, Giant Food and all the partners in this community feeding effort for Thanksgiving and beyond. I also thank Senator Alsobrooks for her continued leadership in helping the less fortunate this time of the year. The weather may be dark and gloomy but with generous non- profits, the faith community and wonderful volunteers we can shine the light of sharing with others this holiday season,” said Congressman Glenn Ivey, (Md-04).
